Application Process

What are the requirements to drive for PAM Transport?

To drive for PAM Transport, you must be at least 21 years old, have a valid CDL-A license (or be willing to train for one), have a clean driving record, and be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen. PAM offers paid CDL training for qualified applicants who don’t yet have their CDL.

How long does the application process take?

The application process typically takes 1-2 weeks from initial application to receiving a job offer. This includes time for background checks, verification of employment history, and scheduling a DOT physical. Once hired, orientation typically lasts 3-5 days before you begin driving.

What documents do I need to apply?

You’ll need your CDL-A license, Social Security card, birth certificate or passport, 10-year work history (with addresses and phone numbers), and contact information for references. If you’re applying for CDL training, you’ll need your regular driver’s license and a copy of your driving record.

Can I apply if I have driving violations on my record?

PAM evaluates driving records on a case-by-case basis. Minor violations that are more than 3 years old typically don’t disqualify you. However, serious violations like DUI/DWI, reckless driving, or license suspensions may be disqualifying, especially if recent. It’s best to be upfront about your record during the application process.

What happens during orientation?

PAM’s orientation typically lasts 3-5 days and covers company policies, safety procedures, electronic logging devices, and equipment familiarization. You’ll complete paperwork, take a road test, and receive your truck assignment. PAM provides hotel accommodations during orientation and a per diem for meals.

Who can I refer to PAM?

Referrals must not be current PAM employees and should not have applied to PAM in the last 6 months. They must meet PAM’s basic hiring requirements including being at least 21 years old and able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.

The driver with the most successful referrals in that quarter receives an additional $2,500 bonus on top of the standard $1,500 per referral. Quarters run January-March, April-June, July-September, and October-December. Winners are announced within two weeks after the quarter ends.
